Dan Cam in the Studio 5 & 6 (Snake Davis) and T-Fest Grays…

// August 3rd, 2009 // 4 Comments » // News

Hi People! Hope you are all well. First let me say thanks for checking out the site and continuing to support me on my musical journey…

A lot of you have been kind enough to send me messages and leave comments here, please continue to do so. Although it is impossible for me to reply to them all I do personally read them all so I want to thank you all. Your messages are always much appreciated.

Had a great day in Thurrock, Essex for the T-Fest. Want to take this chance to say thanks to Thurrock Council for putting on this concert and also for inviting me. Also to the people there, thank you so much for making me feel so welcome. Its you guys that make any gig fun, and its your response that gives me the buzz to want to do better and be better…without you there are no gigs.

Here is a small video I did on the day…just a quick one…some other amazing acts there too including a great band called Millions Wasted (who’s clip I managed to somehow delete!! sorry guys), Twenty Twenty and Alisha Bennett to name a few…

ALSO just finished the latest Dan Cams in the studio with the legendary Snake Davis.

I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing musicians in my short musical career but to meet Snake and witness first hand his brilliance was awe inspiring. I could not stop smiling through the whole session, pure musical genius and a really nice guy too. He even suggested we go for a drink but we were so late I was just too tired. I hope to work with him again in the future. Thank you Snake.

Also thanks to Greg for getting the piano midi track together and the bass track at such short notice. I know you were up at 2am trying to do it so its was ready for Snake and its much appreciated.

Hope you guys like the music….the album is coming along nicely….I hope to get some more clips online soon so you get a better picture of what we are making…

See you soon….

Dan Cam in the recording studio Part 2!

// June 30th, 2009 // 10 Comments » // News

The final part of the Dan Cam from the recording studio…Its never ceases to amaze me how long it takes to put tracks/songs together, there are so many elements, but its so important to get it right early on. Hence why you see me looking so tired in this clip…

Hope you enjoy, the next studio one will be in a few weeks but i’m hoping to get some at my next gig.

Thanks for watching…

Recording and other news

Been a while since my last blog, so many things going on. Sorry, will try and keep more up to date…

Recording is going slow but well. The crew I’m working with are amazing, big thank you to Richard Roberts and John Williams among others for putting up with me!

Want to get the right sound and not rush it. Strings are the hardest. Not easy when you are in market where big ballads seem to only be done by classical singers at the moment, and they are running big budgets with full orchestras and multi million pound recording studios, but I think we have found a solution to get the best sound for minimal outlay…fingers crossed it will all mix up nicely…nothing better than starting with a basic track and adding the elements until it all cooks nicely…and having full control of what’s going on…takes time but its worth it.

Back over to the uk soon for the next gig, looking forward to it, seems like ages ago the last one…crowd were great and thanks to all who came and especially those who waited for hour and a half for a signed photo, then I ran out of them….I will bring more next time….and some other “goodies” too!

New Dan Cam’s coming soon from behind the scenes at the recording studio….watch this space…

Thanks to everyone for the continued support, it is much appreciated….

take care
